On February 1st, 2026, protestors from George Washington University took to the streets in response to ICE’s actions across the United States, while highlighting the devestation in Minnesota that led to the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renée Good. While traveling to the demonstration, a few people would spontaneously join the crowd. One of these individuals would highlight his worry for his daughter, who lived in Minnesota, and how she had seen fear take ahold of her community as a result of ICE’s raids. The demonstration would take place by the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station in frigid conditions, with cars continuously honking their horns in support of the protesters.
