On October 10th, 2026, between 6 and 7 million protestors across America took to the streets to express their outrage at the increasingly authoritarian Trump administration. In Washington DC, speakers such as Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Bill Nye, and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) took the stage to address the crowd. Senator Sanders would declare to the crowd, “We’re here because we love America.” Refuting the administration’s efforts to paint the protests as a “hate America rally” as Speaker Mike Johnson put it. The protests addressed the President’s actions, ranging from sending masked ICE agents into cities like Chicago, restricting news coverage from the Pentagon, and sending the market into instability by disrupting tariffs, to criticisms over his connection with Jeffery Epstein. Such alleged conduct has left the President with a net approval rating of −15%, according to The Economist. In response to the protests, the administration doubled down, with Vice President J.D. Vance posting an AI-generated video of Trump placing a crown on his head — as if to hint, "Is being called a king such a bad thing?"
